About

is the site of Matt Cholick; it's a space for me to put up the occasional blog post and a few other pieces of content. I've often found similar sites by other developers very useful solving development problems and teaching me new things.

I've been a JVM (Groovy and Java) developer, but over the last few years I've expanded out quite a bit by mixing in some Node.js, Typescript, and Golang. Recently, experimenting with a new generation of JavaScript frameworks (AngularJS) has made front-end work fun again. I also toss in an occasional Ansible playbook or Chef recipe here and there to automate all the things.

After wrapping up my master's degree several years back, I moved to the Seattle area. For a while I spent my days as an engineer at Rally Software in the Project Portfolio Management solution space, before and shortly after their IPO. For a time, I built and ran a Cloud Foundry based PaaS on CenturyLink Cloud. These days, I'm spending spending my time at Pivotal building out the Cloud Foundry ecosystem.
